Associate Provost, Berkeley Space Center

Liao Cho Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Alexandre (“Alex”) Bayen is the associate provost for Berkeley Space Center, the director of the Center for Information Technology and Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) and the Banatao Institute, and a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. He has been at UC Berkeley for 20 years. Alex leads the academic mission for Berkeley Space Center, including chairing the Faculty Steering Committee, developing topic-specific clusters, and advising campus leadership on the initiative’s long-term vision.
