Darek DeFreece is a regent emeritus of the University of California and an attorney with over 25 years of capital markets experience. In direct partnership with the associate provost who leads the academic mission, Darek is UC Berkeley's lead representative for Berkeley Space Center, ensuring the initiative’s business objectives meet the campus' public mission and that the campus’ academic and research initiatives align with the initiative’s long-term vision.
